| I can count a million times People asking me how I Can praise You with all that I've gone through The question just amazes me Can circumstances possibly Change who I forever am in You Maybe since my life was changed Long before these rainy days It's never really ever crossed my mind To turn my back on you, oh Lord My only shelter from the storm But instead I draw closer through these times So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace Bring the chance to be free Bring me anything that brings You glory And I know there'll be days When this life brings me pain But if that's what it takes to praise You Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of The dark clouds that may loom above Because You are much greater than my pain You who made a way for me By suffering Your destiny So tell me what's a little rain So I pray
Holy, holy, holy Is the Lord God Almighty Another favorite from over the past year or so. . .
| I've got some terribly exciting news for you!! You ready?? Ok, here it is..........................
My 2 bros and 1 sis are coming home tomorrow!!!! I'm quite excited.
Anyway, while I wait for tomorrow to come (you know, since xanga is the most profitable way that I could spend my evening), I'll post some pics of stuff around here....
Ok, so these first pics weren't exactly taken around here...they're from our time in MD at the Choice Books staff retreat/conference.......
Dr. Ben Carson was the main speaker...he had some good stuff to share!! :: A book pricing relay/competition :: The beautiful hotel where the conference was held ::
:: Can you find the hidden person?? ::

Lizards, spiders, and beautiful flowers!
:: Theses lizards grace our walls, especially (or so it seems) on days when it's hot :: I shot my first black widow spider!! (at least with a camera) Its life was ended quite suddenly and drastically that night, after the picture was taken. Poor thing. :: It's been fun to watch the flowers in the different stages of blooming...God sure is an amazing/creative creator!!

One Afternoon my dad and two brothers and I went on a hike on a mountain...that was fun, and the view at the end was gorgeous!!
Here's a "lake" (or what used to be a lake) we passed on our way home...

Something we definitely haven't lacked in over the past month is heat!! I tell ya, I don't know if I've ever been so thankful for an air conditioner!!! There were some days that it seemed like everything was melting - from hair gel to chocolate! I finally gave up trying to keep my precious chocolate from turning into liquid in my room and stuck it in the freezer. We were told that usually in June, the mornings are very cloudy and then in the afternoon it clears off. They call it June gloom. That definitely wasn't the case this year! I don't really mind though. I'd rather have sunshine than a month full of cloudy mornings, I think. A great blessing though, is that there is very, very little humidity.
This past Friday Dad, Mom, Christopher and I went to see the parade in the morning, and then the fireworks in the evening. Having never seen any parade besides the ones in the Falls, I found this one kinda fascinating...the parade lasted a whole hour and a half!! They had some pretty neat floats, as well as marching bands. They did have their share of old cars and firetrucks though, and I couldn't keep myself from taking a picture when the garbage trucks came through!! The fireworks were neat too. One thing I found cool, being the small town girl that I am, was that while I waited for Upland's fireworks to start, I got to watch two other cities' fireworks. I must say though, it felt so strange to go to and watch the parade, and fireworks, and not see a single person I knew! It made me miss all my friends even more!!
"Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt of every situation you believe to be the will of God" - Jim Elliot.
This quote has been on my mind lately, and has really challenged me. Over the past month I have been missing home, and friends - which is pretty much expected and perfectly fine. But I found myself sitting around and "moping" about the things I'm missing out on, and not being able to hang out with friends since I'm way out here, etc. Then I was struck with the above quote. I KNOW that God has me out here for a purpose, and my desire is to "be all there" and to "live to the hilt" of every situation that God has in store for me! It's not easy though, so, you can keep me in your prayers when you think of it.
Anyway, I hope you're all having a great day, or night, or whatever it is when you read this, and don't forget that if you ever need a place to go for a while, there is a certain household that would be more than happy to have you!!
| We had a great time in Ohio with the whole Schrader family!! (minus
Dad, Carita, and Marcel, and Uncle Gary). It was lots of fun, and many
memories were made:
- random conversations...very random
- ducks and eggs...and plans for a wonderful breakfast that we never had..
- capture the flag
- fishing in the pond - the younger cousins were very proud to announce that they had caught thirty fish! Yes, those poor fish endured alot when it came to being caught, thrown back into the pond, and caught again!
- monkey stories around the campfire told by Uncle Mark
- Snipe hunting -- or talk of it -- we never did get a chance to take certain cousins on an exciting snipe adventure...
- time spent just visiting
It was a great weekend, and it's so hard to believe that it's over, but it is nice
to be back home. I come away from the weekend feeling so blessed...it's
so easy to take family and friends and fun times for granted, yet, each
one is a gift that some people would do anything to have, yet God so generously blessed me with!!
So
now that I'm back, I must settle down and work on finishing
school...hopefully I'll be done with my videos/books in about 7 days,
but that doesn't finish off my school year - there's still those
wonderful tests to take... Quote of the Weekend: Mom,
to Christopher and I - "Thank you, Tim... and Becky, for doing
that...*sigh*...Tim??!! Becky??!!...I mean Christopher and Kristi..." No,
it wasn't a very unusual thing for the nieces and nephews to get called
the names of the uncles and aunts!!(and not just by my mom!!! ) I guess that's what happens when you get the whole family together all at once!!
